For nineteen years Andy was a Commando Paramedic, serving on 6 tours of Iraq and Afghanistan.
Andy has medical experience within most environments of the world including Arctic, desert, mountainous, maritime, hostile urban and his personal favourite jungle/tropical areas.
In the latter, he has spent many prolonged periods of time in South America and Borneo as a Paramedic supporting isolated teams with minimal resources and extended times of evacuation.
Andy enjoys this environment the most due to the unique challenges it presents both medically and physically. He also admits another reason he loves going to this environment is:
“I love taking my camera and photographing the diverse and beautiful flora and fauna, I must admit once I got lost for 50 mins chasing a butterfly with my camera, luckily no one noticed I was gone”.
