Ian qualified from The London in 1989, before completing five years of hospital-based medicine. Since 1994, Ian has been a GP in a 17,000 patient General Practice in Romford. His roles include undergraduate teaching, diabetes and the acronyms: QOF, CQC etc. Professionally, his aim is to continue providing high-quality Primary Care in Romford.
Ian is married to Tracy, with whom he has two sons and an Australian Labradoodle. Ian collects Fender Stratocasters. With varying enthusiasm, he also runs, skis and hikes.
Recently, Ian summited Kilimanjaro and Mount Whitney and completed the Grand Canyon rim to rim to rim trek. He has also taken part in EWM’s Mountain Medicine and Wild Medicine courses in Nepal and Namibia. In 2014, he volunteered for 3 months with the HRA in Manang on the Annapurna Circuit. In 2017, Ian volunteered for 3 weeks with Na’an Kuse, and 2018 saw him spend 3 weeks with Phase Nepal, teaching and mentoring rural health care workers.
